Burrows Lea Country House Wedding Photography | Katy & Stephen

I was delighted when Katy and Stephen asked me to be their wedding photographer. In part, at least, because the wedding and reception was to be taking place at a venue near the area where I grew up and know well. Burrows Lea Country House is situated just outside the village of Shere in the heart of the rolling Surrey Hills near Guildford. A stunning location for a summer wedding. Katy and Stephen suggested we meet up to discuss their wedding plans at The Star Inn in Godalming - coincidentally my original home town and our family local (I virtually grew up in that pub)!

Documentary Wedding Photography in Surrey

It was clear from the start that Katy & Stephen wanted their wedding to be about family and friends, having fun, enjoying each others company and helping to celebrate their wedding day.

They were absolutely set on documentary wedding photography as the style that they wanted with few, if any, 'formal' photos and as little fuss as possible.

Music to my ears as I can focus on looking for authentic moments and telling the story of their day in a genuine and natural way.

I went to visit Burrows Lea that day as I'd never been there before and it didn't disappoint. A beautiful old manor house, with it's own chapel and stunning views of the hills behind. I knew it was going to be a good day and so it was. From bridal prep right through the ceremony, speeches and party afterward, the day was filled with laughter.

We couldn’t be happier with Will’s photos of our wedding day. He captured so many beautiful, emotional and sometime hilarious moments and we have had endless comments from our friends and family over how stunning the images are. Will was also a pleasure to work with, so unobtrusive we forgot he was there most of the time (sorry about all the girl talk you were subject to in the morning Will!), we really could not recommend him highly enough.

I left the party in full swing, it didn't seem like it was going to end any time soon! A fabulous day with the sweetest, funniest people, I shan't be forgetting in a hurry.Below is a small preview of some of my favourite shots from the day. If you wish to share this post please feel free to do so via the social links at the bottom of the page, it really helps me out. I hope you like them!
